is the Directorate-General of the European Commission that is responsible for implementing external aid programmes and projects across the world. It works closely with EU neighbouring countries, Russia, the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) regions, Latin America and Asia.

is the Statistical Office of the European Communities, established in 1953. Its mission is to gather and analyse figures from the different European statistics offices in order to provide comparable and harmonised data to the European Institutions so they can define, implement and analyse Community policies.

(European Anti Poverty Network) is a representative network of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and groups involved in the fight against poverty and social exclusion in the Member States of the European Union. EAPN is supported by the European Commission.
Sample Project CARITAS EUROPA
is one of the seven regions of Caritas Internationalis. Caritas Europa was created in 1971 and brings together 48 organizations that are working in 44 European countries. Caritas Europa focuses its activities on issues related to poverty and social inequality, and issues of migration and asylum, both within the European Union and in all other European countries. The organization is strongly involved in supporting the activities of its members in the fields of international cooperation: Humanitarian aid, Development and peace.

is a confederation of 162 Catholic relief, development and social service organizations working to build a better world, especially for the poor and oppressed, in over 200 countries and territories. Caritas works without regard to creed, race, gender, or ethnicity, and is one of the world’s largest humanitarian networks.

CABINET OFFICE: SOCIAL EXCLUSION TASK FORCE

The role of the Task Force is to coordinate the Government's drive against social exclusion, ensuring that the cross-departmental approach delivers for those most in need. The Task Force champions the needs of the most disadvantaged members of society within Government, ensuring that as with the rest of the public service reform agenda, we put people first.

THE CENTRE FOR ANALYSIS OF SOCIAL EXCLUSION (CASE)

The Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE) was established in October 1997 with funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). That research programme was successfully completed at the end of 2007. The Centre will continue its activities and research into the coming years, however, with support already agreed for a number of new and continuing projects, funded by among others, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Nuffield Foundation.
